Our What is Excel course of computer lessons for Excel continues with an online video tutorial, Understand how to use Excel worksheets, helping beginners, seniors and those looking to learn Excel for work. The computer lesson explains why we may need a number of Excel worksheets for different projects. The online lesson then continues to show how to rename, colour code, drag and copy worksheets before demonstrating how to use Excel worksheets grouped togethor to make alterations. The tutorial also demonstrates how to keep headings in view when scrolloing large Excel worksheets before saving the work to file.

The word tutorials are part of our computer courses giving basic computer skills for seniors and beginners. In the computer lesson we demonstrate where to find the pre-loaded templates when working with Word 2010 and explains where in Word 2007, the tutorial then shows templates may be downloaded from Microsoft Office online where a huge number of templates are available for all sorts of office word tasks.

Office Word tutorials – Creating a simple flyer with word

In the next of our Free Microsoft Office Word tutorials we show how to create a simple flyer using word. This computer lesson for seniors and beginners is part of our word computer course and starts to demonstrate how easy it is to create pieces of work with a little planning and an understanding of the Office Word commands.

The computer lesson demonstrates how to make a flyer by producing a lost cat poster. We start with a simple bit of text which, using the word commands, we change by altering the font type, creating a title, headings and changing the font size. The online word tutorial demonstrates how to select text for altering and uses some basic word commands before running a spell check and sending the flyer for printing and saving. [Read more…]

In earlier tutorials we have talked about using the biggest search engine, so using Google, in this online learning tutorial, the next in our courses for seniors we demonstrate what a true phenomenon global Google has become. We demonstrate that Google has sites catering for populations all over the world and show you just how sophisticated using Google has become. We appologise but because of the speed that Google improves and evolves this video tutorial may well look out of date by the time you get to watch it!

World Wide Web – What is a Search Engine – Using Google to Search the Web

Seniors & Beginners Computer Lesson – What is a Search Engine?

In this seniors computer lesson we ask what is a search engine? For the answer we take a look at the search engine Google, currently the most popular search engine and we see how we can use Google to search the web. We use the UK Google site in this online tutorial however Google does have many regional sites around the world as explained in a later online tutorial for beginners. If you click on the “About Google” link on any Google search page you can find out lots more information about Google.

This tutorial is of use to anyone learning online worldwide and for those looking to gain computer skills and qualify in The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) this lesson covers elements 7.11 and 7.12.

Level: Beginner
