Editing Excel Cells

We continue our computer course showing how to use Excel with a computer lesson demonstrating editing cells in Excel. The lesson talks about how you can set permissions and passwords to protect your work in Excel without going in to too much detail at this time, before showing three ways of editing Excel cells, firstly double clicking the selected cell, secondly using the Excel formula bar and then explaining how key F2 can be used. The computer lesson for excel beginners goes on to demonstrate the status bar at the bottom of the Excel worksheet.

Computer skills

The course for how to use Excel is suitable for anybody looking to improve their computer skills and understand about spreadsheets for work or home. Those people looking to qualify in the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) will also find this computer lesson helpful for obtaining their qualification.

Our computer lessons on how to use Excel continue with an online video tutorial, What is an Excel Cell on a worksheet. Following on from the start of our Excel computer course, this lesson recaps on topics learnt, on the Excel layout, looking at columns and rows before moving on to identifying Cell Addresses or Cell References. The computer lesson for Excel beginners then talks about the three types of data that can be added to cells, labels, values and formulas. The lesson builds up a very simple worksheet to demonstrate the three types of data being added and also introduces Excel beginners to the Name Box and the Formula Bar, two areas essential to understand for anyone who wants to know how to use excel.

Word Tutorials – How to Cut Copy and Paste

Our Microsoft Office Word tutorials continue with a computer lesson showing how to cut, copy and paste in Word 2010. The online computer lesson is for seniors and beginners learning how to use Office Word. Office Word tutorials – Creating a simple flyer with word

In the next of our Free Microsoft Office Word tutorials we show how to create a simple flyer using word. This computer lesson for seniors and beginners is part of our word computer course and starts to demonstrate how easy it is to create pieces of work with a little planning and an understanding of the Office Word commands.

The computer lesson demonstrates how to make a flyer by producing a lost cat poster. We start with a simple bit of text which, using the word commands, we change by altering the font type, creating a title, headings and changing the font size. The online word tutorial demonstrates how to select text for altering and uses some basic word commands before running a spell check and sending the flyer for printing and saving. [Read more…]
